Find an Attorney/Advocate

Search our Attorney/Advocates database to find COPAA members in and around your state. Please note that attorneys and advocates appear by the State listed on their membership. They may also select to appear in additional state listings if they practice in more than one location. Therefore, if you search by State and find an attorney listed in your State, it does not necessarily mean that the attorney is licensed to practice law in that State; it may mean that the attorney resides or maintains an office in your State. It is recommended that you check with your local Bar Association to ascertain whether or not an attorney is licensed or authorized to practice law within your State. There are some situations where an attorney may appear in another in courts of other states or be able to represent people at IEP meetings and/or due process proceedings. All questions on the authority of an attorney or advocate should be discussed prior to securing representation.

Plus, see our Guidelines for Choosing an Attorney and Guidelines for Choosing an Advocate to assist with your selection.
